However, I think its important to note, as some are quick to interpret every warning, refutatio, (and sometimes even advice) by a shaykh to mean his declaration of the one in question as an innovator. What is nice to hear is that some of the Canadian brothers, as well as others, brought this issue to the scholars themselves and waited for the scholars words and circulated their advices regarding this matter. While others were penning their own refutations and distributing and posting words from scholars of past and present which, in often cases, were not directly connected to the issue except by way of topic. Some brothers actually brought the pledge to the scholars and sought their advices even though their words were blocked by those who voice their 'connection' to the scholars the most. Allaahu masta'an.
